Oat Milk Chocolate and Pistachio Porridge

For the mornings where you’d rather have dessert for breakfast, but don’t want to completely abandon a nutritious start to the day–-enjoy a steaming bowl of this chocolate porridge, adorned with our sweet and salty pistachio spread. 


Serves 1


¼ cup rolled oats 

¼ cup stone-cut oats 

Small pinch of salt 

1 spent vanilla bean 

1½ cups of filtered water or milk of your choice 

½ bar Brooklyn Bonnie Oat Milk Chocolate, broken into bite-sized pieces 

Sweet Pistachio Butter Spread, to serve 

Toasted and chopped pistachios, to serve 

Milk of choice, to serve


Add the oats, salt, vanilla bean, and water to a small saucepan set over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then immediately lower the heat to maintain a bare simmer. Cook, stirring frequently, until the oats are creamy and toothsome, about 15 minutes. Add the chocolate pieces and stir through until they have fully melted. 


Serve in a warm bowl, and top with a big spoonful of pistachio spread, a scattering of pistachios, and a little moat of milk.
