Save the world through silliness and chocolate.
FINE & RAW was established in 2007 in a notorious Williamsburg, Brooklyn artist loft by Daniel Sklaar. Daniel launched into making small chocolate batches and sharing them with friends...he then started delivering them on his bicycle to local purveyors of fine food. It was apparent that the chocolate flavor was so good it was borderline addictive. The company grew based on the premise of producing organic, unparalleled quality chocolate and a shear love of the chocolate making process.
WHAT WE DO
FINE & RAW designs and manufactures artisan chocolate bars, truffles, spreads and well, anything our imaginations can think of it. We start by sourcing the worlds finest cacao beans and specialize in clean ingredients lists. Our products are always organic, plant-based and next level.
Our first point of sustainability is a radically-transparent cacao supply chain which is focused on quality and direct relationships with cacao farmer! Our cacao is sourced from the highest quality and most ethical suppliers in Ghana and Ecuador. We ensure that our farmers are paid above fair trade wages, because we believe farmers should have the economic freedom and empowerment to farm organically and develop sustainable land management practices. It is currently estimated that less than 0.5% of cacao beans are organic. By cultivating long-lasting and ethical relationships with suppliers and farmers, we hope to continue providing economic support for the organic cacao industry.
Life is beautiful...and there are many challenges. We support positive change and adoption of enlightening ideas about the environment where ever possible. One of our long term goals is to be a fully solar powered chocolate factory. And into the future we go...
ABOVE ALL ELSE
Be in love with the chocolate you eat.
What makes your chocolate so darn good?
We spend an astronomically amazing amount of time sourcing the finest and highest quality ingredients from around the globe. Sourcing ingredients and developing relationships with like-minded farmers is a paramount skill of a modern artisan.
We are true chocolate makers. This means we control every step of the chocolate making process from cacao bean to chocolate bar. Our craft is an art where every step is equally important as the next. We like to obsess over all the sweet sweet details.
Is your chocolate free of refined sugars, soy, dairy, and gluten?
Yes to all. We specialize in very clean ingredients lists and only sweeten our dark chocolate with coconut sugar.
But how do you get your chocolate so creamy?
For our creamier chocolates we create milky textures by blending the chocolate with nut butters or coconut butter. So our chocolates are suitable for all our vegan friends.

We say yummmm, art, music, dance party, stars, dreams, hopes, parallel universe, science, non-sensical thought, intuition, wisdom, adventure, growth, yes, yes, yes, liberation, rebellion, art, soul, freedom, jazz, you, me, us, connection...
