Pain au chocolat

Hot chocolate 


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°/ 350°F/Gas mark 4. Line with greaseproof/parchment paper.
  2. Roll the pastry into a large rectangle and slice into 8 rectangles.
  3. Slice the chocolate into lines and place one on either side of the pastry. Fold the pastry into the center and brush with milk.
  4. Align the pastries flat side up on the baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffed up and golden.
  5. As they cool, make the hot chocolate by heating together the milk, cocoa, chocolate and cornflour on medium heat and stir constantly until thick.
  6. Pour into a mug and enjoy with your Pain au chocolat!
